My life saver is my diary, because whatever is going on in my life can be safely written down without judgement being passed. And if something is written down, I feel like I can understand it and cope with it.

My diary slows the big events in life to a pace at which I can understand what's happening. When I first started writing a diary, aged ten, it only contained my struggles to decipher the behaviour of boys and who had a crush on who, but as I've grown older more has happened to me and I've come to rely on it to regularly pour my heart out to.

These notebooks filled with my handwriting now feel like a part of my soul. I used to distract myself from my troubles by reading a book, but now the bad things which only happen in books have happened to me and my family, so I can't forget them as easily. I still write about my day, and how I have felt throughout it, but now events include things like GCSE results, homesickness, anxiety about my family and my mother losing her job.

My life has not got any easier since I was ten, but with a diary to write things down in I know that I will never be alone and my life will never be forgotten.

My books are my life saver because I when I’m going through a rough patch I like to escape into a book where I know their problems are usually worse than mine. My favourite author to escape to is Darren Shan.

I truly owe him a lot.

When I'm with my friends, I feel like my life is being lived. All the dancing. All the jumping around. The amazing people. The fulfilled dreams. The opportunities. The accomplishments. Life is being lived. It's not perfect, but it's perfect enough.

And the good news is, the best is yet to come.

My life savers and the one thing I could not live without are my four sisters! It may sound crazy, especially if you knew me and how badly we fight everyday but they are my life savers! From the small things like borrowing each other’s clothes to the big things like them being there for me when I'm in hospital, rain or shine we are inseparable and like they say:

“Sisters have probably the most competitive relationship within the family, but once the sisters are grown, it becomes the strongest relationship."

A pleasure to meet you - I have not one life saver but many. My life saver is everyone that has been in my life and has been there when I needed them.

That person who may not have been standing in front of me, but just letting me know that they are there. Those who have comforted me, through a card, a phone call or an email. People who have grown in my life, starting as pure as white and ending as a whole hearted, red rose.

So I say thank you to those who understand me, when I am moaning, believe me, when I am crying, and standby me when I am in pain. It was a pleasure to meet you!

What keeps this old ticker going? Many things like hope, the ability to challenge myself. Sports and being active too, really helps my physical state, and my mental one. My friends are great, Especially when I am low, it's just awesome for a mate. But I go on EVERYDAY living this life to the full, because it could be my last chance to say "I Love You".
